Yes. Your child will have instructional swim daily with our Certified Lifeguards and the results are often seen in 1 to 2 weeks. Please send your child to camp every day in sneakers (no flip flops or sandals). Please also apply SUNSCREEN every morning before leaving for camp. Staff will reapply sunscreen after swimming and as needed.
On the first day of camp your child should come with the following list of items:
2 bathing suits
2 towels
Sunblock
Water bottle
Pool shoes
Long pants (if signed up for Horseback riding)
Spare change of clothes (shorts, top, underwear, socks, sweatshirt/lightweight jacket)

We recommend leaving ALL electronics and valuables at home. They are easily lost or damaged. Indian Springs is not responsible for lost or damaged items.
All sports equipment will be provided by the camp. The only exceptions are baseball gloves or other equipment if we have special sports clinics not normally held at camp. Campers can bring equipment on those days, and you will be notified in advance. Please make sure ALL equipment is clearly labeled with your child’s name.
Lost and Found: Any items found on camp grounds that are clearly labeled will be returned to the camper the next day. Unlabeled items will be placed in our lost and found on the porch of the main house.
In the case of severe rain and thunderstorms, we use a Rainy Day schedule which includes all indoor activities.
Your child’s safety is our #1 priority at Indian Springs. Our grounds are maintained daily and all of our equipment and facilities are certified and checked throughout the summer and prior to the start of the camp season. All visitors must check in at the Camp Office and show ID. No child will be released to anyone not listed on the camper registration form or without express written permission from a parent/guardian.
Every year we invite parents and families to visit camp to see the fun that your children are having. We provide lunch for you before sending you off to observe your child’s bunk activities. If you cannot make it to Visiting Day and want to visit another day, please reach out to us to arrange in advance.
Many of our parents have inquired throughout the years about tipping. Although not mandatory, tipping is a great way to show your appreciation to camp staff who have made a positive impact on your child's summer.
In case you need a suggestion, we recommend paying $2 daily to Senior Counselors and Drivers and $1 daily to Junior Counselors.
We have a nurse at camp every day that we are open. Any medical concerns should be sent directly to the nurse. ALL CAMPERS must have a Camper Health History form, recent physical and immunization record ON FILE with camp PRIOR to their first day of camp. No over the counter medications can be given for any reason without page 2 of the form being completed and signed by a physician. NO EXCEPTIONS. You will always be called prior to giving medication to your child.
If your child takes daily medication during camp hours, the medication can be stored and given at camp. This includes emergency medication as well. We must have the medication in its ORIGINAL container with your child’s name. We must have A SIGNED ORDER to administer the medication from your child’s healthcare provider that is also signed by a parent/guardian. Please use the Medication Administration Form. Please check expiration dates as we cannot administer expired medication. Any questions or concerns should be directed to the camp Nurse.
