Requirements:
- Must be able to commit to ALL 39 days of our camp season. Camp runs for 8 weeks, Monday thru Friday from 9 am to 3 pm. Summer 2025 dates are June 23 to August 15. Dates change slightly each year. We are closed July 4th.
- Must be able to attend our MANDATORY staff meeting prior to the start of camp.
- Must complete all mandated PA state clearances - Child Abuse, PA Criminal check (for all employees) and the additional FBI background check (for employees age 18 and older).

Job Positions
Senior Counselor
Must be at least 18 years of age and a high school graduate. Responsibilities include the direct supervision of a bunk of children ranging in age from 3 years old to 14 years old. Bunk size is generally 15 - 18 children. Counselors follow the weekly bunk schedule provided by the camp Executive Staff.
Junior Counselor
Junior Counselors (JCs) are required to commit to working the full 8-week (39 day) season and be at least 15 years old AND entering 10th grade. Your responsibilities include working and assisting your Senior counselor with activities that include but are not limited to, assisting with lunch set up and clean up, helping campers apply suntan lotion, escorting campers to the nurse's office or bathroom, and helping at activities throughout the day.
Food Service Staff
We are hiring a HEAD COOK for Summer 2025!
Responsibilities include:
- Prepare and cook lunch daily for 200 campers and staff
- Manage a team of 3 assistants
- Maintain accurate inventory of food and kitchen supplies
- Communicate with purchaser to ensure timely delivery of needed items
- Ensure the kitchen remains clean and sanitary at all times
- Collaborate on the menu
- Meet with Chester County Health Department
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in similar role
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Ability to work on a fast-paced, team environment
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Must be available all 39 days
- Mandatory PA background checks
Additional Food Service Staff:
Responsible for preparing lunch daily for the campers and staff during our two scheduled lunch periods. Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe kitchen and eating area as well as notifying the Executive Team of food and supply needs as they occur.
Bus Drivers
Must be CDL certified.
Lifeguards
We are HIRING a HEAD LIFEGUARD for Summer 2025!
Responsibilities include:
- Team Management: Oversee a lifeguard staff of 3-5 individuals
- Safety Assurance: Ensure the safety of all swimmers
- Instructional Swim: Teach swim lessons to campers of all abilities and ages (3-14) by following Indian Springs Day Camp Swim program
- Progress Reporting: Provide progress reports to parents on campers’ swim progress at regular intervals
- Pool Supervision: Guard the pool during free swim in the afternoon
- Pool Maintenance: Handle all pool related issues, including but not limited daily cleaning and vacuuming
- Chemical Monitoring: Check chemical levels several times a day and intervene as needed
- Collaboration: Work effectively with other senior staff
- Meet with Chester County Health Department
Qualifications:
- Swimming Proficiency: American Red Cross Lifeguard certified, strong swimming background and educational background related to the field including instructional certification
- Previous experience in similar role
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills interacting with campers, parents and staff
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills to manage programs, schedules and reports
- Must be available all 39 days
- Mandatory PA background checks
- Mature person over the age of 21
Lifeguards:
Must be at least 16 years of age with lifeguard certification from the American Red Cross. Responsibilities include direct swim instruction during our instructional swim periods as well as lifeguard duties during instructional and free swim. Also responsible for the daily maintenance of the pools.
Specialists
Must be at least 18 years of age and have graduated high school. One year of college completed is preferred. Specialists are in charge of one specific activity and are responsible for developing daily lesson plans/activities and providing direct instruction to our campers as well as completing an inventory and creating a list of what they need ordering BEFORE the start of camp. Examples of activities that require a Specialist are: Arts and Crafts, Athletics, Boating and Fishing, Rock Wall/Zip Line, Nature, Music and Dance and more.
